Michele Lee Bernstein
Michele Lee Bernstein, PDXKnitterati, designs and teaches from her home base in Portland, Oregon. She loves designing accessories, especially if they use one or two skeins of very special yarn. She’s fond of texture (brioche, lace, entrelac, elongated stitches), and loves using interesting techniques to make small objects sing. Her patterns are available through Ravelry and Payhip.
Michele loves teaching knitters to be the boss of their knitting! She teaches at fiber festivals (Vogue Knitting Live, Red Alder Fiber Arts Festival, Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival), guild meetings, retreats, and local yarn shops. Her new book, Brioche Knit Love: 21 Skill Building Projects from Simple to Sublime combines her love for teaching and designing, using simple accessories to take knitters from the easiest one color brioche through more complex brioche techniques.
Michele blogs about knitting, food, and music at PDXKnitterati.com. You can also find her on Instagram, Facebook, Ravelry, YouTube, and Twitter; she’s PDXKnitterati on all platforms.

Projects
Instructor: Michele Lee Bernstein
Instructor: Corrina Ferguson
This mini sock project introduces you to slip stitch/mosaic knitting in the round. This class will also walk you through the basics of sock knitting from the cuff down, including turning a heel. Heel turns are magic! You should already have some experience knitting small circumferences in the round, or be very willing to learn as you go.
Slip stitch/mosaic knitting is a simple way to add color to your knitting. Using only one color in each row, you’ll build a beautiful colorwork cowl! The Slip Stitch Sampler Cowl class introduces you to five slip stitch patterns, knit flat. You can choose to use one or more of these stitch patterns to make this cowl uniquely yours. We’ll begin with an optional provisional cast on with waste yarn.
This session will teach you how to use short row shaping in crescent shaped shawls. Students will learn a custom cast-on for crescent shawls and how to work yarnover turns short-rows in garter stitch. Students will leave with a copy of the Jovia Shawlette and the skills to complete it.
Holiday Knit Gifts Virtual Event is designed for the knitter who is a more adventurous beginner looking to up their game, or the maker with intermediate knitting skills. Create beautiful knit accessories to bundle up in style this winter... or make the perfect gifts for your favorite people!
